Cisca Salt Pipe

It has been a rather wet couple of days around here, and I've managed to get caught up with blocked and running nose as usual. The phlegm made it almost impossible to breathe through my nose, let alone sleep well. Thankfully, it is all over!

The interesting product for today is the Cisca Salt Pipe. Some of you might have heard about it, but it is new to me. Apparently, it is a form of natural therapy, meaning 1) no risk, 2) no side effects. What happens is that everyday, you use the salt pipe and simply inhale for 15 to 20 minutes through the mouth, exhale through the nose.

The salt pipe contains 50 grams of crystal salt (unlike kitchen salt, crystal salt has been subjected to hugh pressure over many many years) and when inhaled, has beneficial effects on our nasal and bronchial system, such as preventing inflammation and reducing irritation, which is exactly what people with Allergic Rhinitis needs. Seems like salt therapy has been around since the days of Hippocrates by using a simple method of heating a salt solution to obtain steam and then inhaling it.

So, there you go. If you are interested in this form of alternative medicine, you can check out the official website for the Cisca Salt Pipe for more information.
